Blue Bombers Add Talented Manning

CHICAGO, IL-- The Chicago Blue Bombers have reached a two-year agreement with former Washburn University Safety in Marquise Manning. The explosive Manning was a top NFL Draft prospect from the NCAA Division II level. Manning had an impressive collegiate career at Washburn, becoming one of the top playmakers in the MId-America Conference. 


While at Washburn, Manning played in 31 games as a member of the Ichabods, making 55 tackles and three interceptions. He would earn an honorable mention of First Team All-MIAA and All-MIAA for a defensive back. In 2021 Manning would start 12 games recording 27 tackles and a team-leading three interceptions and 12 pass breakups. Unfortunately, Washburn would not compete during the season canceled because of COVID-19. In 2019 Manning earned honorable mention all-MIAA honors as he played in 11 games recording 28 tackles with 24 solo stops and adding three interceptions. While also returning nine kickoffs for 156 yards.
