ATLANTA, GA--  The United Football League (UFL) is pleased to announce that the Chicago Blue Bombers will become the league's second member effective August 30, 2021, with competition to begin in the spring of 2022.

The Blue Bombers are the second of several franchises the UFL has negotiated to purchase from the now-defunct National Gridiron League. The NGL consisted of twelve franchises throughout the southeast and the Midwest.

Located in the United States' third most populous metro area in Chicago, Illinois, the Blue Bombers were established in 2019 as the Indiana Blue Bombers with the intent to initially kick off in Fort Wayne, Indiana. However, with joining the UFL, the franchise will be relocated to Chicago and was renamed the Chicago Blue Bombers. For additional details on the Blue Bombers, fans can visit chicagobluebombers.com.

The UFL will make additional team and league announcements later this fall in an official league press release slated for later this fall.
